      There is no way I am going out to chew a leaf of an unknown plant , or any other plant actually :snork:

      It's not unknown - it's an Oxalis. It's just the exact species that needs identifying!

      But lettuce is good for you:heehee:

        NG ... I gave you the link for it above ... it is Wood Sorrell, quite safe to eat and drink. Used in salads I understand and tastes 'lemony' ... so have a go ... I will tomorrow as I don't believe one clover is going to kill me! :thud:

        PS I do have to go to the hospital tomorrow so I'll be in the right place should something go amiss ...

          Yes, that is Wood Sorrell. I have eaten it but I never thought of the flavour as lemony. More, sort of, "green" flavoured? :scratch:

            I've got some of this in my garden, I quite like it. Definitely going to harvest the seeds now!

            Okay, I have chewed the leaves and must say I agree with Lea ... nothing 'lemony' about it, just green and nondescript!

              Agree with every word of longk above.
              This is a persistent/invasive/pesky weed.
              Cutting the leaves off it will not be the end of it.
              Please do not even think of collecting the seeds!
              The only thing in its favour is that it is low growing!
