@sue young Suggest putting a post on the GC Homebrew Section http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/forums/the-gc-buttery.93/ together with details of recipe (volume of water weight of sugar added and amount of fruit used are essentials as all affect the OSG), method (like have you added boiling water then immediately added the yeast, has the sugar been added yet, etc.) and type of yeast, was it fresh, did you make a yeast starter first (to check viable), etc.

I have checked on the hazelnuts around me and still most if not all of them are green/white, when will they be ready as I see other pickign already, they are all good size though. Is it just my area or is there no hope? The bad weathers starting to knock them off the trees as well

Has anyone ever made any good drinks with foraged nettles before? I had some white wine a while back with nettles in which was amazing... never tracked it down again though. I've seen some recipes for nettle beer, but never been sure of whether to go to the effort of making it in case it's gross!

(Oh and down here in Kent all our raspberries and blackberries all came super early too this year!)

There's also loads of foraged pine cones to be had for winter fuel, it's not just stuff you can eat.
