Toby paid us a visit today and we all trooped off down to the field and Saxonwood. It was sunny and we had the place to ourselves - apart from 2 little calves that were way down the end of the field. Toby stared at them a bit, then his hackles started to rise because one of them looked up and saw him. I think he was a bit afraid and stayed close by all the time. He is not prone to wandering off but maybe that's because he's a bit unsure of his own ability to fend for himself.
It was so lovely to see him off the lead.

No Val, not allowed outdoor pets where we live. He belongs to our good friends and they will want us to "dog mind " him where he lives when they go off for a holiday We've done an afternoon stint and there's a long day stint due in November and I think we've passed the initial qualifying test... .
