    Sounds likely. No way that the front of a stroke 8 would marry up to the rear of a W123 series.

    Okay, here goes;
    Timespan described suggests that it was not a 3.6 litre supercharged V6, but instead it was a 3.5 (M116) V8 engine. No forced induction available and anyway,to re-engineer the CIS injection to run with forced injection would have cost a fortune. The M116 and M117 (4.5 litre V8) both fitted into the Stroke 8 engine bay. Would need custom built exhaust downpipes, but almost everything else would be off the shelf as it were.

    Retrim and late model seats - sorted!

    Probably a smart move. It's a Merc so something like that would be worth sod all really. On the other hand I bought a knackered (but original) Stroke 8 coupe back in 1994 for a hundred quid. It sat in a garage at my parents for the next 12 years getting more knackered until I sold it for £800!!! All I did was get the engine running before they came to look at it. Took a couple of hours and no more than £25.

        Stunning car - looks a little like a pre war BMW . Possibly a Bristol who based designs on the BMW ?

            Beautiful cars, those early 400s were a clone of the pre-war BMWs.

            I had one of the modern Bristols in the 1980s, had it for a few years until I could no longer afford to keep filling it up, that 5.9 litre engine was a little thirsty. This is it sitting on my drive:

              Aston Martin V12 Vantage would be mine, I've driven one & it's fantastic, and not just as a fast car, it's great for regular driving as well :)

                This was THE dream car when I was in my late teens . Jensen FF Interceptor.
                The first production four wheel drive car I think . They looked absolutely gorgeous.

                      I'm not bothered about whether it's classy, I just like the look of them Longk! Yes, that's a very 'girly' thing to say but I'm not usually like that and let's face it we all have to find something attractive to want it in the first place. :) I can dream on an Aston Martin but that would be just a dream, I also like Saabs but they are now a car of the past too. :)

                      At that sort of money it should have some class. The thing about Mercs used to be that they attracted a certain class of person (I should add that I've been involved with them all my working life - nearly 30 years), but now every chav and rep on the planet drives them.

                      I always liked the Fiat Multipla for daring to be so soddin' ugly!!!!!!!!

                      It's a disgrace what happened to Saab IMO.:mad:
