Should I split them up,I have another of those pots and can give 1 to a neighbour, which I will have to pot up and have in my greenhouse over winter. :noidea:

I bought it in Wilkos reduced from £8 to £1,,:hapydancsmil:

Difficult to say about splitting them.

You could kill all three, or you could end up with three good plants.
If you want it to look good and leafy keep all three.

If your eventually looking for something that looks like a single palm, I'd just cut two off, to be on the safe side.

Here's my Palms that I've picked up over the last couple of weeks, 2 Trachys, bought from my regular market stall guy for a £1 each, he was clearing his summer stock and 3 young plants that I got from B&M for £1.49 each on sale last week, forget the name but I have the labels in the greenhouse :)

My B&M don`t have many plants, the usual dried up bulbs and a few dying clematis/fuchsia, in those sleeve packs.

I have had a closer look this morning and there is actually 4, so think I may split into 2s and make up the other pot, as they have only been in pot just over a week, before they get too established.

I will lift it and see how difficult it would be before I take a knife to it, :heehee:

I'd try to avoid using a knife, better to tease them apart if you can.

They were a Blackpool based company who recently moved to Liverpool (and doing the dirty on a lot of their head office staff, but that's another story). They are a discount store like Wilkinsons.

They have decent plants in from time to time, often young plants in 3 inch pots wrapped cellophane. You have to get them reasonably quick otherwise they dry up and either away!

I lifted palm, shook out as much compost as I could, washed the root ball, and 4 separate palms, so I now have 2 planters 2 palms each, hopefully they will settle nicely now. I did take pics but not uploaded if they appear I will edit.

I rarely buy plants in Wilkos, they are usually already dying, but there was about 10 plants on a shelf, not all had a reduced sticker and this looked to be the best, thank God I didn`t have room for 2, I might have ended up with a forest. :snork:

Has anyone built a cover for there palms to keep the rain and snow off them?
