Had another walk around Durlston CP as it was a calm day ,there were thousands of Swallows and Martins wheeling around but not ready for departure yet. The trees were full of Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs and this Willow stood out with some nice colouring.

A few Common Whitethroats remain and are busy fuelling up on berries, tis one is really showing his white throat.

A male Stonechat was bullied off his lookout by a small flock of Blackcaps.

The one on the right appears to be ringed so I think these are all this years young males.

I'm afraid the young lady had to stay below, you know how it is!!

I had the good fortune of seeing a Humming bird hawkmoth in my garden yesterday. Only the second time I have seen one in England.

Is that another name for Dunnock? Google Images seems a bit confused too.

Dunnock has been the preferred name due to the fact it is not a Sparrow, it's nearest relative (bigger and similar looking) is the Alpine Accentor found in the Pyrenee and the Alps and elusive unlike our garden friend.
