    Well after collecting literally 15+kg of conkers with my sons over the last few weeks we started making some things today, first up was a perennial favourite the 'conker man' and I also made an 'autumn' wreath for by the front door :)

      I like the conker man. :) I think you must have the islands share this year, I haven't seen any at all.

        Best year I've known for conkers and most other nuts and berries to be fair, the hedgerows and woods are abundant with them :)

          I raided my best friend's tree for conkers to put in all the corners of rooms. Apparently, they deter spiders, Can't say that I've noticed a mass exodus yet, though....

            At my age I still can't resist picking up a few conkers to slip into my pocket (together with my catapult, marbles, etc,).

                Ha! I miss conkers as a kid, havent played in years, still cool conker man though :D

                I've heard that clove oil is good for keeping spiders out. Tried and it did seem to work but I didn't like the smell either - felt like a visit to the dentist. Need to try a more dilute version next year
