Hi I'm a student at the University of Huddersfield studying product design and just need to find out a few things.

    1) Roughly how many days a week would you say you'd garden?
    2) On average how much would you say it costs to maintain your garden?
    3) Where you live is it an urban area, rural or other?
    4) This may seem like a bit of a daft question as this is a gardening forum but i have to ask, is gardening something you enjoy doing or something you feel is a bit of a burden?
    5) Would you be more interested in something which could perform more than one task?
    6) What is your favourite which tool do you use the most?
    7) Which take do you find most difficult?

Thanks for your time, is theres anything you think i may have missed of feel free to comment and let me know.

    Tom

You could have asked permission first :hate-shocked:

This is a privately funded forum

Hi Tom, I'm afraid Ziggy is right. It's courteous to ask permission to use the Forum for your questionnaire whether or not you think it's a general discussion. It's a bit like using someone's computer without asking, I wouldn't do it and I'm sure you wouldn't do it.:dunno::coffee:

Tom, I would suggest that you pm Ziggy and sort it out with him but in the meantime I'm locking the thread until you get permission.

I'm sorry for being a bit harsh :) It's just that we get some folk pretending to be students when they're really product testing.

                      1) Roughly how many days a week would you say you'd garden?
Depends on the weather and season. Say 5 on average across the year.

                      2) On average how much would you say it costs to maintain your garden?
£50 per year (compost, seeds fertilisers)

                      3) Where you live is it an urban area, rural or other?
Semi rural (largish village just outside a city)

                      4) This may seem like a bit of a daft question as this is a gardening forum but i have to ask, is gardening something you enjoy doing or something you feel is a bit of a burden?
                      Enjoy.

                      5) Would you be more interested in something which could perform more than one task?
No (I assume you're talking about gardening tools rather than hubby?)

                      6) What is your favourite which tool do you use the most?
Depends on the job. The fork gets used a lot for digging over in spring. Secateurs are used regularly for pruning. Favourite tool - probably telescopic saw/lopper without which trimming tall shrubs/small trees would be difficult.

                      7) Which take do you find most difficult?
Take=task? Removing roots of shrubs which have been killed by honey fungus

Tom - you might wish to proof read your last three questions. Good luck with your assignment/project.

                          1) Roughly how many days a week would you say you'd garden?
On average , half a day a week - (during the spring it could be 2 days/week, during the winter zero days/week)

                          2) On average how much would you say it costs to maintain your garden?
Very difficult to answer, depends what 'maintain' means; I probably spend £50 on seeds, £100+ on compost, £50 on heating/lighting, £10 petrol (for lawnmower/strimmer). I could well be spending a lot more on buying plants each year too, but maybe that isn't 'maintaining'

                          3) Where you live is it an urban area, rural or other?
                          urban

                          4) This may seem like a bit of a daft question as this is a gardening forum but i have to ask, is
gardening something you enjoy doing or something you feel is a bit of a burden?
                          I enjoy

                          5) Would you be more interested in something which could perform more than one task?
Not sure what this might be, some sort of tool? Well I have a couple of multi-pupose tools already.

                          6) What is your favourite which tool do you use the most?
                          Spade/trowel

                          7) Which take do you find most difficult?
                          take?
Finding the time to keep on top of the garden in the spring
