We have added much more robust doors than originally planned for both security (the potting shed is at the end of the house, and would be an easy target whilst we were tucked up in front of the telly, let alone middle of the night!), and also for insulation. It thus needs a fairly hefty handle and bolt - not to mention a 5-lever lock as well - so sadly I have struggled to see how a Carrot "pull handle" would work; when we originally talked about it I thought this would be a simple outbuilding type door ...

I'm open to ideas, but my brain can't figure what would work as a (more attractive!) alternative

I'll take a photo of the door tomorrow - that might help :)

You've made a great job of the nativity Jane. :dbgrtmb:

You're asking for ideas... this little log cabin (in kit form) my daughter sent me to build myself and I'm wondering whether you could use the idea for other things. My first thought is adapting it for bird nest boxes.

So I was working at my local nature park where I volunteer today while an special art exhibition was going on. The artist in question is Terrance Lambert and has quite a reputation.

        http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_Lambert

Anyway I got chatting to him and he wanted to see my carvings. I grabbed my phone and showed him my work and seemed particularly taken by the bumble bee I had carved out of walnut nearly a year ago. I hold this bee quite close to my heart as I was quite pleased with him. I then offered to trade him for a piece by Mr Lambert and he agreed. He noted down my address and said he would send me a drawing of bumble bees for me. So I've traded a piece of my work for a piece of art potentially worth a lot more.

        I'm so excited!

I am starting to get snowed under with orders for the reindeer but am still churning stuff out for the upcoming christmas market next month.

Here's the next two bits I've made. Thankfully nearing the end of the work.

I haven't posted in this thread for a while as I've been so busy. My reindeers have been a big hit and I've lost count how many I've made now.

Today I just done a Christmas market and made just over £100. I also got another commission and lots of praise.

Here's some pictures of what I was selling.

I was a bit disappointed that I didn't sell any of my nativity bits though and still have lots up for grabs. So if anyone wants any bits give me a shout. [emoji6]

You've done very well Jane. :dbgrtmb: Unfortunately nativity isn't as popular as it used to be and school nativity plays are pretty much a thing of the past now. It's probably because we have such a wide range of different religions in this country now and people are frightened of offending others.
