The tomato soup could be used in a pasta dish, but it will have a much stronger "tomato" taste than if you used passata; to compensate for that, up the garlic/onions/herb content.
Would also work with in a chilli (ergo enchiladas/burritos etc ).
Or, you could use it to make Tomato Soup Cake (it's actually really good! My recipe is still in packing boxes, but the one I've linked to sounds good too).
It could also be used as a base for other (more substantial) soups e.g. beef, onion and tomato (use up left over beef from a roast, caramelise some onions, add to the base tomato soup: voila! ).
Likewise the leek and potato soup: yes, try it with fish pie but use it as a base for chunkier soups; or, use it as the "stock/thickening" for a country chicken casserole and just vary the toppings/accompaniments = scone topping, mashed potato topping/filling for a jacket potato meal or over rice/couscous. Simply changing the herbs/spices and you could have several styles of chicken casserole style dishes. I think salmon would go well with it too with a good handful of chopped parsley (or even fennel). How about adding some chunky (or chopped tinned) ham to the soup, topping with mash, sprinkle some grated cheese on top and turning it into a gratin dish?

I know I've taken this out of context (my sense of humour compels me, sorry), but...

How can you get free soup? There's the 'god bus' that pulls up in town on a saturday night, tries to convert revellers away from boozing to come in and have a chat and some soup instead.

Or, slightly more seriously, in spring time, you can't go too far wrong with nettle and wild garlic soup. The ingredients are free and abundant, the recipe simple and delicious.

          http://www.newcoventgardensoup.com/

They've posted details of the soup coupon!

There's several at Asda for £1, nearly all of them at Morrisons are £1 and most (if not all) at Tesco are £1.17 (but they are larger cartons). NB Asda locals only stock 1 or 2 varieties and charge £1.07. The print count was a approaching 200,000 last night, so I'd print some off quick as a message displays every time that it's checking against the print limit. Morrisons policy is max 6 coupons per transaction, so keep buying 6 at a time.

P.S. Due to the high number of these being printed we're getting in as much soup ASAP just in case the coupons are cancelled because somebody's failed to set the print limit correctly. If 250,000 vouchers are printed and they are also subsidising the supermarkets selling them with £1 off this month, £500,000 is rather a big give away.

There's also the potential problem of people with their pockets full of coupons going round all the Asdas, Morrisons & Tescos first thing and buying up all their stock.

EDIT: Another reason to get in quick is the end of offer dates given by stores may be their best estimates of when their discounted stock will run out, so will pull the offers early if there's a huge increase in sales and put them up to £2+ again.

Missed out on the soup because Scrungee had cleared out all the stock on the shelves:snork:

Whenever we go to the supermarket and the shelves are bare I tell Mr Kandy that they are empty because Scrungee has got there first and cleared the lot:biggrin:

The printable coupons for free soup from New Covent Garden Soups website finished days ago but there's still a source they can still be obtained from if anybody missed out/wants more/etc. and wants the details.

Asda increased their pizza prices a while ago, but Sainsburys have now reduced their price for Dr Oetker pizzas to £1.50, and with loads of promotional packs still about that's free pizzas yet again. http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/threads/the-supermarket-savings-thread.48637/page-10#post-858681

Whilst in Sainsburys look out for promotional packs of Kelloggs cereals with codes inside to get a Sainsburys Mobile sim with £15's worth of credit (need unlocked phone). We bought a trolley load of them today to use for 3 addresses (max 3 per address), plus for when our daughter gets moves from halls at Uni next year and gets a second address. http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/gb/groceries/get-ideas/features/features/kelloggs-free-15-pound-sim-offer?langId=44&storeId=10151&krypto=HpfHi4H23+/JUx4EThyxH9l1V7mFg4VwwHn+44Ymc1WD6w5f2e0Hh04yJ/NoJwVc55qoiin0Qbr4 CKurEfMO2xe1+TdE3BKAL4qbzE3GOIbly2g6dLzios/C4sDOOLUV6e8AhGRyUT+/5su67x8gzi7M fFQ6viVD0R5zVxhuhac=&ddkey=http:gb/groceries/get-ideas/features/features/kelloggs-free-15-pound-sim-offer

Finally we now have something else (Kelloggs ceareals) to eat for breakfast in lieu of New Covent Garden Soups, but at least we've found the latter (tomato) useful for making pasta dishes now tomato pickings are declining.

That's the way to do it! I'm amazed when I see Mr & Mrs Muggles looking at stuff like that, discussing what a bargain it is, and then only put one in their trolley, and then we take all there is and then try and check another store for a second haul.

Free Birds Eye frozen pasta/veg packs! Tesco cash machines printing £1 vouchers for them and they are on special offer for £1 instore. And it gets even better because CheckOutSmart (smartphone cashback app) are giving £1 cashback for each of the 2 flavours, so with each of our 2 accounts that's a dozen packs for free and £4 back. In Tesco here are promotional Candia Just Milk 6 packs where you can claim your money back, which together with a load of Birds Eye pasta packs should get you close to the £20 to use a £3 off £20 voucher if you got them in the last Clubcard mailing.

Always keep an eye on those machines for some product promotion on the display, get a printed balance and if it has a money off voucher printed on it push the button for another service, push the printed balance again, then push the another service, etc., etc. until you have enough vouchers to fill your freezers (oh dear, there's still a lot of soup and pizzas in ours, we got around 90 free soups and our daughter at Uni got over 30).

£1.49 Ristorante pizzas with code for £1.50 off voucher are £1.49 in Morrisons again, so they pay you 1p to take them away, Seabrook lattice crisps are a bargain with the vouchers to get them free that were on Facebook a while ago (keep checking their page as that happens regularly) but they are also on multi-save at Morrisons, so you get paid to take them away, plus when you get home upload the receipt to Quidco Clicksnap to get £1 cashback. Don't forget to add some other stuff to soak up the savings as Morrisons refuse to let you have all your shopping for free and give you money out of the till (Waitrose will actually do that!). Bottles of Coke on offer at Tesco again at 2 for £2, use 2x £1 off coupons from their October magazines (still valid, always keep a bundle until expiry date as very often some products go on special before the coupons expire) to get them for free. Free Yoghurt & Volvic water 1L sports cap, download coupon for free yoghurt at http://www.danio.co.uk/thegrumbler/#/, buy both using coupon then upload the receipt to Quidco Clicksnap to get the remaining 85p back. "1 coupon per email" (hit the back button and you'll be able to print another).

With supermarkets own brand 4 pints milk you can get £1 back from Shopitize (another smartphone cashback app) making it free. We need lots of milk because we bought lots of the promotional Kellogs packs at Sainsburys (3 for £6, but there's 50p cashback on Cornflakes) and the packs have a code inside to get a Sainsburys Mobile sim with £15 credit but it only lasts 1 month, max 3 per address, so we're using some other addresses to get a year's worth at £2/month, plus double Nectar points instore and on fuel during that period.

Not paying much for our shopping this week.

P.S. We are still eating onions bought when you got £5's worth fruit & with vouchers (May/June?) from The Sun (40p) as we got 5 sacks, but on last sack and still got some butternut squashes and vacuum packed sweetcorn for the hens that has a really long use by date.

5 pack of Seabrook crisps at Tesco http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=275594831 £0.84, buy 2 packs for £1.68 and claim £1.60 cashback from https://www.quidco.com/clicksnap/details/3248/seabrook-crinkle-cut-crisps-6pk-gluten-free/?ref=/clicksnap/offers/all/ so, although not free, only 4p per 6 pack of crisps, less Clubcard points, less bag re-use points, less credit card cashback.

How many Quidco accounts do you have? We're stocking up for Xmas with stuff like this.

The Tesco cashpoints are now longer printing coupons for free pasta, but are now spitting out coupons for £1 off Birds Eye chargrilled fish and chicken but we don't eat that and the chargrilled Pollack in tomato/herbs is reduced to £2, and there's Quidco cashback of £2 off 3 packs, so £1 after cashback for 3 packs making it £1.10/Kg/33p per pack/16.5p per portion, which seems pretty cheap to me. https://www.quidco.com/clicksnap/de...lls-all-varieties/?ref=/clicksnap/offers/all/
