    this morning, making veggie potato pancakes. A good way to use up small amounts of cooked veggies made during the week. Into a food processor goes one or two raw potatoes, (peeled). And zucchini, asparagus (left over), couple of eggs, salt, and little rice flour. Turn on. Then fry up like pancakes, top with butter and or sour cream. Yum.

          Free New Covent Garden Soup with Warburtons Thins that were also free, in fact better than free as they were on multi-save and we got the full face value of each of the try me free vouchers off our shopping.

          Tomorrow we'll be having a different variety of free soup together with better than free 'New York' Bagels, and those 2 are what we will be having for breakfast 75% of the time for the next 2 months or so as we like to keep our average cost of breakfast to no more than 20p.

          We do something similar but using mashed potato, onion, garlic, and bits of left over veg and they're very tasty especially when served with fried eggs (from our hens), and we make them more scone shaped.

          I used to love crumpets, fairly well toasted and with some cheese/cheese spread, but this year even if well toasted they suddenly started tasting very stodgy plus started giving me indigestion, so I've given them up.

            Some brands are very like that: stodge! I go for Asda el cheapo brand and they are the best of the bunch when you want a crumpet with a bit of crispness and less of the stodge factor. Sorry you've had to give them up @Scrungee to me they are real comfort food (in moderation of course :heehee: )
