Kandy, your premiums shouldn't be affected as you should be claiming, through your own insurance company, on the insurance of the other person. It won't cost your insurance company anything and, therefore, doesn't cost you. :blue thumb:

@ Shiney....We have done everything through our Insurance people and as you,Mr Kandy and others have said our Insurance people will be claiming back off of the other drivers insurance.

I had an email from the repairers and have had to send photos to them of the damage, the Vin number,Odometer reading and a photo of my number plate, which I duly did and I assume they have worked out the cost of repairs and have informed my insurance people who will put in their claim.

As we have been away,my car is booked in to have the damage repaired this coming Monday and have been told it will be with them for just a day,oh and I am getting a curtesy car as well.:fingers crossed:

I will have to wait and see when the renewal comes through next year whether anything has changed,it was just what we had seen on that programme, but if the programme was a couple of years out of date then things may have changed, but I was always under the assumption that if an accident wasn't my fault then I wouldn't be out of pocket so to speak...

Kandy, from the insurer's point of view it isn't whether the accident was your fault but whether they have had to pay out money. That's why, if the accident wasn't your fault, people should never accept the insurance companies agreeing between themselves that the fault (and cost) shall shared in some way.

Unfortunately, some insurance companies do this to have an easier life!

You need to be very careful when applying for a renewal of insurance and make sure that you let them know that the other side paid for everything. Don't just let them assume it was a 'No fault' accident. If your premium goes up you should argue. :blue thumb:

Lucky you Jenny, they are getting in early to decorate for Halloween, no expensive false spiders webs from Asda for you!
Take it as a good excuse to go with the season to lay of the dusting for 3 weeks.
