Cleaned out the inside of the greenhouse. Repotted blueberries in nice new pots. Weeded herb bed. Enjoyed my hibiscus, which has been in flower for the past 4 weeks. It is 5 years old and never flowered before so really thrilled that it has finally displayed.

      Cleaned GH inside and out.
Intention was to remove all the summer bedding but just couldn't do everything still looking good. So just dead headed the dahlias instead.
      Dug up my ensete banana
Mowed the lawn, swept and load of :autlvs: Ready to wrap up the musas

Decided today was the day to regain control of Thuja hedge which I have decided needs to change from just a backdrop to a smart clipped hedge. Its quite tall!! and I've been putting off starting for a while as I wasn't sure how well it would be possible to cut it back to something that would make a smart clipped hedge in time. Went at it with secateurs for a first pass to see how much I could cut back, whilst leaving some "green" on it so that it regenerates next year. Time will tell :) Plan is to them plant Box in front of it for a cloud-pruned (or "organic" or whatever the style is called!) look.

Dug up and divided 2x large Hostas. Planted them around the garden. Each clump gave about 6 - 7 pieces.

Today it stopped raining for a few hours, I picked the last of the runner beans, took down the scaffolding some huge beans lurking, forked the soil over as I intend to plant the new raspberries when they arrive in that place, cut the old ones down to the ground. Planted out new Holyhocks Black ones really looking forward to those Am now done in for today! I hate being old.....:doggieshmooze: I sleep as much as the dog

I've been cutting daisies out of the lawn the past week, it's quite therapeutic. I just hope they don't grow back.

My bulbs arrived, taking today off and Friday. Planting all the bulbs, and transplanting some off shoots of hardy
Geraniums. to another site to fill in for ground cover, the original batches are huge, need to be thinned anyway. That should be enough for today.

I saw someone's got 2 tonnes of topsoil on Freecycle in Cottingham.

EDIT: I read that as borrowing not barrowing!!! I presume you already have soil. Oh dear, home time soon... :mute:

Apart from trimming the edges of some of the lawns I cleaned the bird feeders.

The bird feeders took a few hours! :hate-shocked: I took them apart (not too difficult), scrubbed them inside and out and cleaned all the parts (quite a long, wet job) and put them back together (a very fiddly and time consuming job).

The birds now have spotless bird feeders. :blue thumb:
