+ other secretions have been found to contain the ebola virus such as saliva and mucus.

My biggest concern from the begining has been the potential use of Ebola by terorists, because if they're willing to be suicide bombers then surely they'd be willing to infect themselves and fly to target countries in the West to cause as much havoc as possible. I wasn't going to post something that might give nutters ideas, but it was mentioned on Radio 4 this afternoon that the main reason we're now working on an Ebola vaccine is to prevent bio-terrorism.

Much of the advice being given in the UK is contrary to earlier information, such as suggesting the virus will only survive for 3 days outside a host when it was previously suggested it was up to 70 days in Africa with it's higher temperatures and UV levels which reduce its lifespan.

I also find this UK advice for those getting rid of splilt body fluids rather worying

Didn't we go down that road with Anthrax? Kind of.

Perhaps we should shoot suspected Ebola cases, entering the UK, on sight:snork:

I forgot about another potentially infectious secretion - tears.

Which only underlines my point that we haven't yet grasped how to deal with Ebola or how serious it is...........we're still thinking we only need to apply Flu constraints..........if you're going to sneeze, use a Handkerchief:wallbanging::gaah:

Mine's a pint of your Home Made Fire Water, Ziggy, and keep 'em coming until I keel over......either from the Fire Water or Ebola.:heehee:

What I don't get is why the other, much larger outbreak is not being reported at all. We have a pandemic brewing. A pandemic of hysteria.
