Mine seem to have 3 - 4 growing points. Do you think it's better to wait another year or so until they're quite crowded?

Dug two holes by the Jasmine Hedge and cemented two new posts in ready for making a new fence to hold the Jasmine back from over growing the pond. Then moved some large pots from the borders to hard standing, followed by dead heading of some perennials. Then I did some pruning of my Garrya James Roofe as it was starting to grow over the Osmanthus. It was a bit of a mental tussle to do the pruning but while the Garrya looks spectacular with it's catkins the Osmanthus beats it with it's scent when in flower.:dunno::snork:

The most *important* part of gardening, I would say  It should save you a small fortune too. I still haven't got beyond where to put the shed? :noidea: :heehee: Won't even begin thinking about what to plant until I've got the back bone decided (e.g where to relocate the path; where to put the shed; where the arch will go; how much lawn do I actually need/want/if any; what about a water feature? ) Worse, my ideas alter every other day  :heehee:

We picked up 50lb of apples (some of our friends went off with a load) so I've got to find more freezer space for when we cook them down. Mrs Shiney has removed our hanging baskets, potted up the fuschias from them, saved a few other hardy plants from them and planted them with winter pansies.

I've got to try and work out what made these holes, only 6" deep, and decide what to doabout them - apart from filling them in.

I've also got to have a strong word with the woodpeckers. They've now reached over 24" into the tree!

Sheal, they, cleverly, nest high up in the top of the poplar trees. They're never going to give up their penthouses! :)

My last 'load' took around 18 months Sheal,it would have probably taken 12 months if I hadn't mixed in some of last years leaves but I had no where else to put them:doh:....if I'd have shredded them they would have taken even less time:dbgrtmb:
