    Thanks @Adendoll :blue thumb:
I may have to get one of those slow cookers. They seem really popular :blue thumb:

good for cooking beetroot in overnight
"" "" " condensed milk overnight for caramel sauce ( think Bannofi)
"" "" " steaming Christmas pud on the day. It'll just get better and better every hour its neglected, so if the :ccheers: wins the first round, it'll happily come in second...

:dbgrtmb: Cannot recommend them highly enough Geezer, dead easy to use, really cheap to run. Can make all sorts of stuff from porridge to puddings to really succulent stews (not at the same time:snork:)
The biggest plus is that if you remember to fill it and put it on, when you come home on a cold dark night, all tired from work, you have a lovely meal awaiting you -never fails to make me happy!

That reminds me of a night out with my mate. We asked the barmaid for half a guiness and a fresh orange juice. She put them both in the same glass! :thud:

                Cor @Lolimac ,
I could just go a bowlful of that soup right now - with a goodly slice of your home made bread,
                Jenny

Tonight was cold cuts from roast chicken (from yesterday) with fresh roast potatoes and all trimmings. All chook leftovers have been suitably slow cooked and quick cooled for stock.
Tomorrow I am off to the butchers to get some sweetmeats because I have a visitor coming Wednesday and I want to do something special :dbgrtmb:

I make my own salt beef from brisket. It's the best cut of meat for that. Nowadays they tend to have removed a lot of the fat from it but I ask for it with the fat on. The joint is then rolled and put in the brine with garlic, spices and saltpetre for 7 - 10 days. Then boiled with a few additions.

hot salt beef and chips (yum yum), hot salt beef on rye sandwiches with home made English mustard (delicious).

As we were out all weekend helping my brother in law assemble their new kitchen we missed our usual Sunday roast so I cooked it yesterday while Mr Kandy drove over to the garage to pick up my KA:hapydancsmil:

We had slow cooked topside of beef with home grown roast potatoes, runner beans, broad beans,Brussels sprouts(shop bought)carrots peas and carrots so should have got some of our vitamins out of that lot:biggrin:Also had Yorkshire pud and a nice beef gravy with it:yes:

@NorthantsGeezer Tesco's have slow cookers on offer at the moment £17.99 I think it was as opposed to the normal £34.This was the Kettering store so not sure which is your nearest Tesco store but you could also order it on line to pick up from a store of your choice:smile:
