Can't stand it to be honest. Its a headlong rush on the lead up, encourages many who cannot afford it to spend a load of money (although that could be seen as a tax on the gullible). and all for it to be over in less than a morning (lets be honest, its barely Christmas Day afternoon before we are getting bombarded by the holiday ads and the next DFS sale!)

To be honest, I have little time for any of these 'Hallmark' holidays (Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Uncles Day, the Man Down The Street Day and so on)... sure, its nice to pass gifts and time with loved ones, but that shouldn't be reserved for certain times of year in my view

Sorry, I'm with FC on this one! Other half and I dropped out of Christmas years ago and we take ourselves out for a car picnic somewhere quiet and deserted. Usually here.... :)

A dog who helped everybody open their presents and jumped up to pull crackers was the highlight of our Xmases for many years.

I love the run up to Christmas, up until the adverts start on TV, then I quickly get sick of it. For me it's an excuse to be creative and force things I made upon people.

However this year I have been too busy with my carvings and this is the first year I will be selling them to the public. What I have found so far is that people go absolutely nuts around Christmas time and will spend their money like no tomorrow on all sorts of stuff that they don't really need. As a result I am truly snowed under with work.

I personally though don't like Christmas day as you can't do anything accept cook a Christmas dinner and sit around and be with family, which I really don't enjoy. All because it's such a special day. I would rather be on my own making things or digging something. The excess also makes me feel unwell, the amount of food people eat or are meant to I find personally disturbing. I usually now don't eat on Christmas Day itself as a result.

I know what you mean about people going absolutely nuts around christmas time..You go to the supermarket around the 23rd/24th and their trolleys are just lipping with food and half will probably be chucked out after boxing day...Don't they know shops reopen again on boxing day lol
