So now my body clock will be again all over the place and it will take me another six months to adjust to it and then some idiot will tell us to put the clocks forward an hour and like sheep we shall follow:snork:

There's those of us who haven't got kids to worry about anymore, or what time of day we have to get up, but you can guarantee because we are allowed an extra hours kip some rotten devil in the neighbourhood will wake us up making a racket!:)

I have been up since 5am(6 in old money) and feel like i could sleep for a week:snooze:They were talking on Jeremy Vine last Friday and I think the clocks got altered because of some traffic accident that happened in the 60's up there in Scotland but I only caught the tale end of the programme.I think people getting run over in accidents in the dark is natures way of killing of the weak ones,as they should learn to run across the road a bit faster:snork:

Mr Kandy often has cyclists riding down our village road in the dark with those silly dark Lycra clothes on and then they wonder why they nearly get knocked off of their bikes as those little lights they have on the bikes are usually only switched on at the back:frown:

The origin of British Summer Time goes back to 1907 when William Willet first proposed it.

It was first brought in during WWI in 1916. During WWII they brought in Double Summer Time but stopped it at the end of the war. From 1968 - 71 they dropped BST completely as an experiment. There was no firm conclusion one way or the other so they went back to BST.

Of course, I was just making fun in my previous post as we can't blame the Autumn change on the Scots. Autumn timings are the original and it's Summer Time that's the change. So, maybe, we can blame that on the Scots. :heehee: Although William Willet lived in S.E. London. :snork:

The real people we should blame are the Germans!

People used to blame the farmers but I don't think that applies nowadays as the farmers will work way into the night if needed. The farmer was still working in the field at the back of us at 1 a.m. this morning as he was lifting his sugar beet.

I don't think that there's any hard evidence, one way or the other, that it's saves lives/working time etc. What bothers a lot of people is the sudden change in the daylight at the beginning or end of the day instead of the gradual change that most peoples' bodies stay adjusted to.

For people that don't sleep, such as myself, it doesn't make a jot of difference. I don't think it has any impact on the 22 hours a day that cats sleep, either! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
