I had my dog microchipped today because apparently next year it will be mandatory. I was doing some research just to see what it entailed and apparently it has been considered for humans!! My first thought was that I wouldn't mind but now I'm not so sure, what do you think.

I do think in the future people will be micro chipped, but that will be when we have all inter bred into a non specific nationality race. Probably another few hundred years yet.

I have been thinking about this and imagine if you were in an accident, the ambulance men could do a quick scan which would tell them who you are, your age, your medical records etc, even next of kin to be notified? Actually just typing this I WANT ONE!!!

Funnily enough, I had reason to wonder about medical emergency and how I might be identified and properly treated if I were found unconscious somewhere. If this chipping thing works properly then it could be a very good thing.

In a way, most of us are chipped these days. How many of us can't go anywhere without our smart phones? Our devices that carry our identity, and track their location by GPS, and feed all our habit info to the likes of Google?

No smart phones in the Shiney household. Even my £2.95 PAYG mobile phone isn't very mobile. It sits on the side, switched off, for about 50 weeks a year :heehee:. I've spent almost 50p on calls this year so far. :hate-shocked:
