Haha this is how i normally feel about it

But they actually posted a sensible article the other day about the research results from stanford about the abnormalities found in the brain of myalgic encephalomyelitis patients.

They didnt do a bad job apart from confusing chronic fatigue with chronic fatigue syndrome so wording was a bit out

But glad they got the research out to the masses which will help

I think that's the first time I clicked on 'disagree'! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I used my Taste-T-Toast, again, for lunch today :blue thumb:

With it you can have the slices as thick as you wish. :) I like mine thick and I prefer the texture I get from cutting the bread myself.

            It's very solid cast iron
            P1210945.JPG

The bread and filling is put inside and trimmed round the edges. Then it's put on the gas - it can even be used over an open fire.
            P1210948.JPG

It's heated for as long as you like. Some people prefer their toast much more burnt than this.
            P1210949.JPG

It's then just tipped onto a plate and the metal is left to cool down. There is almost nothing to clean with it as it doesn't stick and burn. This is just after I've tipped it onto a plate. I then rinse it and a give quick wipe with a soapy cloth.

We bought it at the Festival of London in 1951 :blue thumb:

I had grilled goat's cheese crostini at a restaurant last weekend, does that count as cheese on toast?

I've got a couple of those devices (and a square on which wastes less bread) which are very handy for making tasty snacks sitting around the campfire of an evening. The colours of their handles indicates they're from the 50's.

Much more fun than using a modern toasted sandwich maker or toasted sandwich pockets in a toaster. I've added boiled rice, cracked an egg into them, added veggie curry, baked beans, etc. for a bit of variety

Something I've remembered is do not buy any with spiral wire handles that look like this or you'll need an oven glove to handle them, get them with proper wooden handles. Carefully checkout any where the illustration does not show the handles.

P.S. I bought all mine at jumble sales for about 5p to 10p each.

Canadian cheddar on toast, with toasted sesame seeds as JWK says.
A bit of mustard on top goes down well.
