Does anyone grow this, is it fully hardy?
I have been given two large pots and a huge clump of this stunning hybrid which have only been grown on from plugs this year and not seen a Winter so I am not sure how hardy it is and I don't always trust the retailers description.

Mine are still flowering, wintered through just fine I have become an ardent fan of these beautiful plants now have them in five different colours. One thing I did learn from, Google was that when they finish flowering don't just cut them back you pull the individual spent flower stalks out like Rhubarb. You learn some thing every day.

Why don't you do an experiment?
Protect/lift some, and leave the rest in the garden.
    See what happens?

Thanks Rosie and Sirius, I've yet to dig a hole for the large clump and the potted ones were only divided a few weeks ago so I shall leave them undisturbed for the winter.

Hi Strongy. I love these too but have only been able to keep mine outside for a couple of years and then they die. This year it didn't even come up!

Well aren't they a lovely sight to behold! Do they grow from seed?
