Very nice Folly Mon. I know a few carvers who do this and I'm not sure if I would do it for someone if they asked me to though as I don't really approve of guns myself. But I won't judge people who have guns either.

      :)

I quite agree, it does keep me very occupied in the winter. It was nice to see the praise I was given too and lots of people took my card.I got another commison too from the chap who bought the large bird with the wings back I sold back in September time. I have started to think about charging a small surcharge for commissions but am not sure if this will put people off.

I kind of agree and disagree. I had a lot of people come and admire the nativity scene but found it to be a bit of "luxury" item. I wanted £50 for it, which in hindsight was probably a bit too much but this took me two weeks. A couple of people did ask for a price (I didn't put one on at first) and I did get a "can you make me one for next year" request. I am now toying with the idea of having a go at making one half the size, in the hope that it will take me slightly less time to do.

I am doubtful if even that one will sell though. I am reviewing my options. I have a few outlets I could sell them through. The gallery that turned me down maybe interested as it is a unique item etc. But we shall see.The christmas market I also took part in yesterday are holding another one in a few weeks time and I am not sure if I will take part or not as I can't create the stuff I had yesterday in such a short time and need to address display issues (the glass cabinet I currently use, isn't mine and is falling to bits, so I need to invest in one that is small and mobile)

I now have enough to sell through etsy but am reluctant to do this as I think the place has too much competition and would rather keep it local for now. I am hoping to begin constructing my own stand alone shop after Christmas and then advertising that, as I can then add bits when I make them, rather than having the pressure of filling an etsy shop up with as much stuff as possible.

It took a few attempts but I finally got something in a commercial gallery.

To be fair this friend did give me my "big break" and got my work out there. She didn't have to but she did and this little dog (she's a massive dog lover) is to show my gratitude for that.

This just arrived for me from the artist Terrance Lambert when we did our swap a few months back.

Also the reindeer I put in the art gallery sold last Saturday
