    No.

    No.

It doesn't add water, but simply retains moisture.

As this one has run for over two weeks I thought I'd better give some more clues, and bring this to a conclusion (but I still think it should be really easy).

The studs shown are used to both lengthen and shorten it, depending on what goes in and also to adjust the length of what goes in as it's used up.

And to make it even easier, here's a bit of the other side:

I thought loads of people would also have these as they really help cut down on wastage.

    No.

It's approx 700mm long fully extended so it fits nicely in my kitchen or rolled up when taken out for a re-fill.

As this has been going on for over 4 weeks now, maybe some one will get it from this:

They keep the contents moist for days, so no more wasted ends that go stale by the next day. No more breaking them in half by trying to fit them in carrier bags and then having half of it fall on the floor, ether on the way to the car or as soon as you open the tailgate. PLUS a whole loyalty card point for every time you use it - it's a 'bag' isn't it? It'll probably pay for itself in 6 months and last for several years - I've got 2.

But you've still not posted the answer!
