What beautiful things!
Well here's a screen made by OH (the structure) and self. We made it a few years ago but the cotton panels where left white. I'd always wanted to decorate them in some way, and so this summer I finally got around to it, using a technique I saw Alys Fowler use on her 'The Edible Garden' programme. It basically involves hammering leaves or flowers onto fabric. The first pics are tests that I did first.

It's a self portrait of me I whittled from silver birch while at my last Christmas Market. I'm going to give it to my Nan for Christmas. I haven't seen her for over a year because of my Agoraphobia, so I thought of it as a gesture that I am always thinking of her and that this is a substitute until I get better.

The spade is made from an old baked bean lid I should add that I painted. The handle is made from a broken green garden cane I had knocking around too, which I sanded and then stained.

Im not a bunting person but now i have a pergola thought i would make some for the shop. Plus if i crochet it out of the polypropylene twine it can stay up in all weather and not get soggy







I think it looks alrite. I think im going to do a version where the tips of the flags are a diff colour like they have been dip dyed

 

Finished an xmas garland forgot to take into consideration that the gold would blend in with the wood of my fireplace but im gonna pretend im going to understated

 

Love the garland and the bunting, it's so lovely to have own crafted decorations.
Is it possible to knit with that twine, do you think? Sadly I can't do crochet.

 

Im not sure to be honest its really hard stiff stuff so i think it would be quite difficult to knit with as you collect stitches on the needles dont you? As you can tell i dont knit lol

Just asked my mum and she shook her head and said no lol

 

Have just had s thought the thinner polypropylene twines might work for knitting so ones like these

But they are not as strong and dont hold their shape well and tend to curl a lot
