Nice and sunny with smallish clouds. 11C and a slight breeze. No damage following last night's wind - peculiar quarter. It was howling,

Apparently it`s heading up the Bristol channel tomorrow night, gales, snowy showers or heavy rain, or so Derek Brockway says.

Not at this time @shiney, the last couple of weeks supplies have been down. I 'hit' Tesco's tomorrow and with no boats it's not looking good! I'll keep you informed. :)

The severe gale that hit us last night is still blowing and isn't set to start dropping until tomorrow afternoon. So far no damage as my place is mainly sheltered from it's blast, but other half has had to reinforce a fence panel that was starting to break free from a post.

It's been mostly dry and sunny today, spoilt by this relentless wind, 6C.

It's so nice to have such helpful friends, thank you!

On a more serious note, if the weather continues to be bad, shipping or should I say our only two ships, one of which is for freight the other for part freight, part passengers tend to bring in vital supplies only, anything else is delayed and can be for weeks, so it doesn't help any of the retailers selling other goods. We have had a Hercules flying in with supplies before now which is ridiculous as we have a private company of freighters that will sail in worse conditions. Unfortunately there is friction created when the suggestion of using them arises!

Last night the winds strengthened and there were short hard showers rattling against the windows. This morning the skies were clear with plenty of blue and very few clouds and a strong breeze. Right now the temperature is 39f and the pressure reading is1025mb.:coffee::snork:

So, can't you send Mr Sheal on a trip to the mainland, on the passenger ferry, so that he can bring back a sufficient supple for you?

Even if it were possible, no Shiney, he hates boats! :) There are other shops here obviously but it tots up the petrol driving to them and there's no guarantee that the cupboards won't be bare when we get there because of panic buying.
