Point being, that Chippies could offer a variety, wouldn't be hard to do, just add a spoonful of the required curry powder to the basic mix & charge a few bob extra :)

Had a prang in my car last night. Went to turn into a small car park at the top of my road and didn't see a metal post on the left (it was dark and no streetlights near it). First I knew of it was when I heard a crunch. The door of my car has a massive dent along the side and all the paint scraped off. I'm going to ring the insurance company today to see what they advise, ie whether the owner of the car park is at fault or whether I have to take the hit on my own insurance. Will be going out later when it's dark to take photos to send them.

Can I have two moans? Work is a bluddy nightmare at the moment. I've been working on a tender for the past year which is hopefully going to be over soon but I can't wait for it to be over, it's causing me so much anxiety that I'm having mini panic attacks.

When I don't have something big to moan about I start moaning about the little things :heehee:. At the moment it's the prices in advertisements.

On the radio and TV they have started to drop mentioning the pounds and/or calling the numbers by their proper names!

A product that is selling for £249 is mentioned as "two four nine" - no mention of pounds at all and calling the numbers by their individual names. :nonofinger: It should be "two hundred and forty nine pounds"!!! :mute:

Now, if the price was £249.99 I would be quite happy for them to say "two forty nine ninety nine" but not "two four nine nine nine". On the basis of the previous paragraph that would refer to £24,999 :heehee:

What can I do about it, apart from moan. At the moment it's simple, I can buy the product at the same price from a company that doesn't call it in that manner. Which is exactly what I did when buying a cordless vacuum cleaner recently. I also told Currys that they lost the sale because of it. :old:

I did get it slightly cheaper at the place I bought it but I'm sure Currys would have equalled the price, given the opportunity.

                Suggest it to them :)

My previous chippy, run by Turkish/Cypriots, put together their own recipe for a dry seasoning to go on their fish and chips: "Shakey Shakey Seasoning" (because they called their shop Shakey Shakey :rolleyespink: ) Anyway, people will go there just to buy a little pot of Shakey Shakey Seasoning because it's really caught on and they like it! Both of my sons love it so much ... I posted them a little tub each so they could season their food at Uni :roflol:

Son-at-home-for-Christmas has requested that we have their fish and chips the night before he goes back to Uni in the New Year ... " ... and please can we buy a large tub of shakey shakey to take back with me?" ;)

Now there is a business which saw an opportunity and flew with it

Must be something in the air at this time of year Loli.

Waiting to pull out of the T-junction at the end of our road yesterday, I had an idiot jogger, headphones on and oblivious to everything going on around him, run straight in front of me just as I began to move off.

Lucky for him at least one of us was paying attention.

It's the same here too! Christmas has this tendency to destroy grey matter, particularly in those using the roads.
