    Good morning everyone,

    Woo...:grphg:..Hope Penny is OK too:doggieshmooze:

Shiney...:phew: that sounds like a job and a half ,but a good job done:dbgrtmb:

Moyra...Hope you get through to the Dr's...Kep pressing redial:thumbsup:

    Maria...Good luck with the shopping:paladin:

They were going crackers in Morrisons yesterday:rolleyespink: I normally really don't like food shopping but it did turn out to be quite good fun. There was lots of grumpy faces which tickled me:heehee: but there was also one or two really jovial folk and it was turning out to be more of a social outing. When they played Boney M over the speakers me and Mum couldn't resist a discreet jig,we've got a thing about that song:rolleyespink:

The plasterers didn't leave while 10.30pm:yawn: did a brilliant job though:dbgrtmb:
Now I need to get this house in some kind of order and put furniture back, the decorating can wait till after Christmas now:blue thumb:

Have a great day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

        Morning all

Foggy start but lovely and sunny now, bloomin' cold though.

Moyra, yes, Moore is my maiden name. Did you get your appointment?

Bet you're pleased all the workmen have gone now Loli and you can get your home back to normal.

Glad Penny is ok Woo. I don't begrudge vets' fees - they mostly do a fantastic job - but it's amazing the difference in costs. They're much cheaper over here.

Have fun Christmas shopping Maria, hope the shops aren't too mental.

        Hope your battery arrives Zigs

        Have a great day everyone

I finally got through to the doctors and have got an appointment for 5.20 tonight. Could have done without going out in the cold night air but I was just glad to get the appointment.

Good morning Eve I hope I didn't give that impression my friend:smile:

Its just that purchasing the medication for Penny on line would have only cost yours truly about half the price approximately £60 but need a prescription from my vet who charges £19.30p per item, which seems to me not quite right:dunno:;)

Oh no I didn't mean that Woo. Was just thinking how much cheaper vet treatment seems to be over here, compared with south east England.

Oh, my dear online friends - best of wishes to you all (be it health, wealth, peace of mind over loved ones, or otherwise) :grphg:

I'm in two minds about vets fee (to be perfectly honest): on the one hand, they can come as a bit of a shock - after all, we have nothing to compare them to :noidea: - and on the other hand, it does make me ever so grateful for our NHS!

I dread to think if we had to pay per consultation (plus out of hours if needs be!), then per blood test, disposal of equipment used, per injection, per prescription (and I mean, full cost per prescription; not the nominal charge) etc. Just imagine how shocking each of *those* breakdowns would be :yikes:

But, if we did have them, perhaps we wouldn't view vets fees with such a sense of shock/horror/how much? :noidea:

Even worse: what if we had to put our faith into the online meds market due to our economic circumstances? Would cheaper equate to better/worse/same/indifferent? :noidea:

Just so, so pleased I am not forced to make those choices - particularly if I was at a point where those choices may be confusing, or worse, governed by how much I have in my purse at that given time :phew:

Vet wise: I hope my pet insurance will cover (if they remember to take the flipping Direct Debit as instructed  ) most eventualities; or my savings if not. :fingers crossed: I could never put a price on my Ozzy or Echo's head - and I hope never to have to make that choice either *shudders*

So glad Penny is ok :doggieshmooze:

Son and I had a pyjama day today  Not intentional, but it was fun nonetheless :heehee:

He cooked brunch; I cooked dinner and we both had a good chuckle along the way. No so for son-not-at-home-this-season (SNAHTS). He called, in a blind panic, because he had lost one day: the assignment/presentation he *thought* was due Friday ... is actually due Thursday!

I simply listened, asked a couple of questions, asked him a few "what ifs" regarding the essay topic; pointed out he actually had a good 48hrs to do both in ... listened a bit more; threw in the odd question ... by the end of the call: SNAHTS is less stressed, more focussed, no longer in the depths of despair :phew: ( I did chuckle to myself though: he's very much like me - reads something, mind goes into overdrive with questions/thoughts/etc ... then, it takes just a gentle nudge ... and then thoughts fall back into the realms of normality :heehee: Jumbled thought mess averted :roflol:

                The day has been successful.

                xxMxx

Oh M can imagine your son's panic. I have finally given up and got up as my chest is playing me up.; I did get to see the doc and yet another but stronger prescription of A/Bs prescribed. He has also given me a card for the hospital x ray dept. if my chest is not better by next Monday I have to go as he thinks I may have a touch of pneumonia or bronchitis. Well I'll catch up with you in the morning dead or alive. God bless.:wub2:

                    Good morning everyone,

Moyra...Hopefully this next course of AB's should do the trick given a day or two:fingers crossed::thumbsup: I know you love to take Amber out and about but I wouldn't venture out far in this damp weather just to give yourself chance to get better:blue thumb:

Woo...Pleased to see that Penny is OK:doggieshmooze: £157.15p is nothing to be sniffed at , see what I did there:biggrin:...but no matter what the cost we'll get our furries right won't we:dbgrtmb:

It's been a wet night here, constant rain:rolleyespink: so much so half the lawn is under water and ofcourse Theo being Theo decides to lay in it:doh:Archi is far too sensible for all that messing around and prefers to keep clean .Theo is now drying out wrapped in towels and his brother is just sat giving him funny looks, they are a pair of characters:doggieshmooze:

                      Aloha everyone,

Moyra, take care and if you have to go out make sure you put a scarf (or similar) across your mouth. It will help stop the cold air getting to your lungs. An x-ray sounds a good option. :grphg:

Woo, it's good news that Penny is OK :)

"M", I was brought up pre NHS and remember my parents having to make decisions on whether to go to the doctor or not. Those were the days of home diagnosis and 'cures' :rolleyespink:.

My cold and chest are a lot better but my foot continues to give me problems. It has good days and bad days but the good days are becoming more frequent :)

It looks as though today's weather is going to be a non event. No rain, no sun, no wind, no frost!

Keep well and have a great day

                      Aloha!

Hello everyone, feeling rather fragile this morning but 'I will survive'!

Have taken Amber out for a short run, she is now tucking into her breakfast. I haven't taken any meds yet and am in a quandary after reading all the pros and cons of the new antibiotics. Seems I have to leave off certain of my daily meds such as statins, no problem, colchicine, hmm could be if it allows me to get gout again. Then it mentions my hiatus hernia meds, just hope it is not going to give me gut rot...........Oh well we shall see.

I hope everyone else is ok, this is not the time to be unwell, so have a good day all, stay safe, warm and dry and above all well. God bless. :wub2:

                            Morning early people :)

Yep, keep that chest warm Moyra. I've had pneumonia twice, it's no fun

When you'm better the Doc can give you a jab against one of the types :)

Rain all night here, propper dull December day.

Have a good day everyone and remember to get some batteries in for Christmas day, someone will need them :)
