Good evening Shiney ,I thought that to enhance the goodwill between the two counties only separated by a river, that we could come to some arrangement ,say an Essex groat for each bird:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

What! As little as fourpence!! :nonofinger: You have to get your priorities right.

I remember when I found a sixpenny bit in the street - nearly got engaged to her! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I went to put something in the dustbin cupboard this morning and she flew down as usual. I told her I had to go back and get the camera and I shut the door on her as the wind was blowing in .
When I went back, she was still in the same place but looking a bit peeved so I'm sorry the piccie's rushed but she was famished !

You were lucky. You lived in a neighbourhood where there were windows - and tables. The cardboard box we lived in only had a window because some of the box had rotted.

We have a town garden and for some years now regular visits from greater spotted woodpeckers, usually going for the peanut feeder or fat-ball feeders. Over the last month or so we have had a jay in the garden too - nothing very unusual, but the two visitors seem to communicate? - anyway, the woodpecker turns up and within a minute so does the jay - and if the jay arrives first it is only a short time before the woodie makes an appearance too?? - No pics as I don't have a zoom on the camera, but here is the garden pictured last week
