As the new year approaches I wondered if anyone else had plans for next years holidays.
We like the sun and warm Mediterranean weather but next year it is Switzerland for a complete change. August is not the sunniest or driest month there but we are taking the chance. Eleven days will give us leeway weather wise for the trip up to the top of the Jungfrau.
Looking forward to some nice walks as long as my heel is ok by then.

:biggrin:Sounds like you are going to have a fantastic time Strongy and hope the weather turns out ok for you at the time you are going:fingers crossed::smile:

We were due to go away Christmas Eve in our caravan until after the New Year but due to Mr Kandys dad being in hospital have had to cancel it:sad:

Would love to do Austria and Switzerland (lifelong dream)but due to Mr Kandies travel anxieties can't go abroad so it looks like either The Lake District or somewhere else in the British Isles that he can cope with visiting but not really making too many plans yet:snork:

Again in May our 2 week stay in Key West, Fl. I am also focusing on a bucket list trip, the Alaska Cruise, have to get things going with that planning, probably in August. Not sure what other trips we will take.

Scotland, a cottage near Loch Lomond where we can take the dogs. Might stop off in the Lake District for a few days on the way up as we've never really explored there. As I live "abroad" we usually holiday in the UK and mostly in Scotland as I need an annual 'fix' of home and to spend time with my son who moved back there a few years ago.

We're not doing any of our usual big treks into the out of the way places this time.

So we've booked a group of short breaks.

We shall have our usual two breaks in the Lake District and have booked two, very cheap, cultural tours in Turkey. Eight days in 'four star' hotels B&B, including flights and coach tour with guide. £149 :blue thumb: (Reminder to self: get visas and insurance)

We're also doing a one week wander up the river Douro in Portugal. :dbgrtmb:

Sorry to hear you have had to cancel your caravan trip Kandy. Are Mr K's anxieties are flying? you can do Switzerland by train but may be the tunnel might be an issue.

Harry, loved Olu Deniz and will go back there sometime, trouble was we went in August when it was mostly 40c+.

Shiney, We want to do a tour of Turkey but will have to wait until Mrs Strongy retires as again it is too hot in August.

Hopefully I'll be going to see my family in Canada next July.
Also if funds allow canaries in December

Things are a bit up in the air at the mo. We are trying to find a small house or apartment to rent for 3 months for this spring in E Spain but bugger (I got edited I didn't write bother ! pesky Admins! ) me if it is nigh on impossible to find anything suitable
Helsinki for me for a few days (will go twice if I can get away with it), and we're planning to go to Wales in the summer. I'm also preparing the ground to go to Lisbon as well (got the Rough Guide and left it casually laying about lol).
Always on the lookout for a cheapie weekend away as well.
