Vermiculite.

I'm sowing my Kelsaes in vermiculite this year, trying to avoid damping off @Freddy

 

Crikey, how did you come across this old thread?! It might be worth trying, but I've found the best way is to make sure there's enough moisture in the compost to start with (not soaking), then bag up the container. I haven't tried using Vermiculite though.

I used to grow Lupins in vermiculte when I was little, thought it might be worth a try with Kelsaes, got to beat @Lolimac as they're her seeds
