I know him, he used to give me Mackerel

He built an extension a few years back and the miserable sod next door built a blockwork wall up against it so he couldn't open his windows or see out.

He must have run over a luck Badger

Hi Scrungee, I would classify all the things you mention, bar the saving of your own House and Home, as I know you do i.e: acts of selfishness and isolation. Those kind of things don't affect your actual survival, [in the right context], or the very home that you and your family live in. There are some decisions in Life that people make that are controversial and seemingly anti-social but I don't think taking action to protect your own property when the Authorities are so incompetent that they are the ones who are partly to blame for the situation is one that many ordinary people would not do.:dunno::snork:

So where does speculation end and investment begin?

I'd feel very unsure of any authority that spent its last penny.

It doesn't, Pete, they are both intertwined inextricably. No investment, like Life, is without risk, and as they say "the only things certain in life are Death and Taxes":dunno::hate-shocked::coffee::snork:
