Thanks Sheal my friend:smile: I am sitting at the top of the garden far from the madding crowd just like Thomas Hardy;)

Our (brief) Christmas Day visitors, Long Tailed Tits which I haven't seen in the garden for 6 months or so.

One of a pair of Chaffinches which have just returned after a long absence but are now daily visitors.

It will be turning a lot colder over the next few days. Hopefully, more of our Winter regulars will turn up,

          Lovely photos everyone:smile:

We have had a male overwintering Blackcap in our garden twice this week feeding on my Callicarpa berries but both times by the time I either went to get my camera or pick the camera up off the kitchen window will it has flown off as my movements have frightened it:sad:Was nice to see him though as he was in my garden the same time two years ago but no sign of him last year:smile:

Thank you Woo. :) They were taken with my Canon SX50, sadly not perfectly focused because he was moving about so much.

The lake is man-made but filled with sea water. I didn't know there were any fish in it until I looked through the lens to see what the Cormorant was tackling.

Black and white Blackbird in Aunt in law's garden in Birkenhead.
There were also Blackcaps around but too far up in the trees for a pic.

I've just seen a Peacock Butterfly sunning itself :yikes:

There seem to be more and more of these mutations appearing. Why now, in recent years and not previously I wonder?

Climate change, they know the next part of the ice age is coming.
