This year, I am taking my garden back. Its mine. I can't wait to get started. I just need the weather to bring us a bit of warmth and a bit of a dry spell so I can get cracking. I envisage more soft fruit, a roof on the fort, a new tunnel that I was meant to build in 2014 but lurgy held me back, pond relocated from back garden to front, extension to Nerf battleground, and hopefully, after 5 years, conquest of 'far end'. What's your plans?
That sounds brilliant Clueless... I'd like to create some more borders as I have a lot of 'straight' edges which would mean using up some of the lawn but I'm still trying to fathom away round it so the garden will still be dog and chicken friendly.I'd like to plant up a 'hot' border too.I seem to have a lot of pinks, blues and purples in the garden so for a change I'd like to go for more vibrant Reds,Oranges and yellows which up to press haven't been my 'thing' but after seeing lots of planting ideas it's grown on me
This year I intend to grow more veg as last year I only grew beans, beetroot and cabbage. I want to secure the bottom end of the garden, where the veg beds are, in order to let the chickens have a bit of freedom when I'm around. Not sure how to do this as I do not want a 6 foot structure permanently in place (I need to think about this). I want to lay some more paths at the bottom end of garden. I am also toying with the idea of removing all the gravel and membrane in the back borders so that I can put annuals in to change it a little, at the moment all the plants in the 2 side borders are perrenials, and I would like to move some stuff around. This would be a lot of work initially and 3 times as much upkeep if I do it. Rusty
Well that's that idea stuffed then No plans at all for me this year. Just going to watch it all happen around me
id really like to grow more veggies this year, lack of space is a bummer but im sure i'll manage to cram a few more pots in somewhere i'll also have to tackle the front garden as it looked a little worse for wear last year and needs a freshening up
