Just dug up half of my remaining spuds (Maris Peer) and am really chuffed with the yield and cleanliness. The first few roots I tried a couple of months ago were really scabby but that problem has gone now, must be something to do with leaving them to mature after the tops die down. Anyway looks like we have enough to keep us going till the New Year. They are still breaking up when boiled so given up with mash, they are nice roasted.
