The vicar of our local church loves dogs, he has 2 of his own and dogs are always totally welcome!!! On a Sunday morning there is a large dog drinking bowl outside the front doors and you see people walking into the church with their dogs!! I had never seen this before I moved here so to me it still looks kind of strange but also totally wonderful!!! :wub2:
Needless to say the church is always full on a Sunday with people and their dogs!! Anyone else lucky enough to have a church like this?

No, but, the local tourist attraction café does the same thing. For us that is a good thing because we have to go through there for a woodland walk and that bowl of water is so welcomed afterwards when Ozzy is most parched.

Hopefully, your congregation attend for greater reasons than a dog drinking bowl ;) :doggieshmooze: :heehee:

The dog drinking bowl is to show that dogs are welcome!

I think it's very nice that dogs are welcome. Maybe more people would attend church if they could take their dog. :)

@"M" Sorry I just realised what you meant  No, obviously for more reasons than because he supplies a drinking bowl, but it shows the way he thinks, he is a very down to earth chap, not 'high church' at all, people round here really like him.

Unfortunately, if I go towards a Church blue flames appear around the doors and a deep voice says "Out!!"

Our local pubs put dog drinking bowls out . Suppose Churches and Pubs are similar as you always feel better after you have been

I always have this mental picture of all the dogs sitting along the pews with their heads on their paws saying 'doggy' prayers.
