So, I've vacated the living room and taken refuge in the office ... why is that a problem (?) ... Mr "M" has to be up early (early, early) and now, all I can hear is ... SNORING!

So, why did I vacate the living room? :noidea:

Because of the stereo: Echo (the cat) snoring in one ear and Ozzy (the dog) snoring down my other ear!!!! :nonofinger:

WHY!!! What is it with snoring!!???? :dunno:

Is it fashionable? Obligatory? A torture device? A right of passage? :noidea:

Now, growing up, I had to share a room with my mother. I learned that I had to go to sleep first, because, if I didn't, her snoring would keep me awake until DAWN! (Or, at least, it felt like it :rolleyespink: ) And now ...

... I'm surrounded by snorers :wallbanging: :wallbanging: :wallbanging:

Naturally, I'm a perfect angel when I sleep (no snores, puffs, grunts, snorts, wibbles, dribbles, squirts or methane :wub2: ).

So: do you? Or, someone close to you?
Does it impinge on the person you may happen to share the same space with?
    Have you tried any "remedies"?
    If so, did they work?
And: if most people/animals do it ... why is it soooooo teeth gratingly annoying? (in the same vein as Japanese water torture :rolleyespink: ).

    Hrmph! :mute:

I've been up since five because of Mr Kandys SNORING:snork: Mind you I have been told that I snore at times but that is usually when I am blocked up in the nasal department or have a chesty cough (brought on through being a passive smoker when Mr Kandy smoked)so I am just getting my own back on him:biggrin:

            You have my sympathies 'M'

:ideaIPB:....I think alarm clocks instead of Bleeping or ringing should be fitted with a snoring sound that'll get everyone up:dbgrtmb:

@"M" ...I've tried a few remedies for snorers , Tutting, cursing,a gentle poke on the arm, a not so gentle dig in the ribs but the only successful solution is to hold the nose..repeat if necessary

I've been told I don't snore but do grind my teeth. One of my grandaughters does the same thing, it's amazing how much noise she makes for such a tiny mite.

it is actually important to monitor very loud snoring especially in young children because it can be that the oxygen intake is not sufficient (for example in the case of big tonsils). If that is the case the different organs are not fed enough oxygen. A "sleep test" can be undertaken where you attach a small machine to your big toe, by mean of some tape, and sleep through the night. The machine will take a reading that the doctor will examine to make sure the oxygen intake is sufficient.
