It get worse. Not only are the rivers flowing backwards (post#256 above), but surface water run off from Bridgwater isn't being drained into the nearby Bristol Channel, and is being piped 10 miles back inland to flood the Somerset Levels.

Most of the road floods are improving, but there's still a lot of water about. DSCF0001.JPG DSCF0002.JPG

They're both your pics and I can see both of them in my post and your quote of it, but there's all sorts of odd stuff happening since the update this morning - your Reply(aka quote) appears to show 2 duff images, but BB Code only shows ONE.

I've had the Reply (quote) button produce a blank. All doesn't seem right with this new version of Xenforo is this still just a 'release candidate' and not a fully working new release?

I hope those above comments + what's been reported in Feedback get back to Xenforo.com so everything gets sorted before the final release of the latest version.

It does look like there's some improvement but obviously still got a long way to go. Hopefully the dry weather promised for this week will help. :)

As we experienced with our flooding, it became old news very quickly and the media moved on to the next story. Snag is it takes months and months to clean up with little or no help given from the powers that be once the spotlight is off them. I do hope you can have a good spell of dry weather which will go a long way to improve matters.

Got into the pill box for the first time this year today (door's been swollen shut)

Waters been in there, bit of a slimey mess to sort out, had a load of boxes in there full of stuff to carboot. Now got some fungal piles of cardboard and rotting books.

                            :-( the pill box

You could make papier mache puppets and sell them instead at the boot fair

Remember I said I'd wrote to our local MP to ask why we were sending money to a country that has a successful space program and a full nuclear arsenal (India) while there was no spare money to help sort out the flooding? Well I've received a letter back from said MP, and I must admit I'm quite pleased with it.

My MP forwarded my letter on to the minister in charge of overseas aid, who has supplied a very verbose response, which I wont bore you all with, but after all the waffle and statistics, we get to the following paragraph:

Then its just more waffle about independent watchdogs and other such tedium.

The letter also bangs on about DC's commitment to spend whatever is necessary to sort out the floods, but he had made no such commitment at the time I wrote to the MP.

Telly is saying its a year ago now, and Somerset folk are a lot happier with the rivers being dredged, but theres still a lot more to do with regard to sorting out the drainage from the hills so it don't all come down at once again.

Still glad i'm in Dorset now though, never floods down here.
