just blocked off a hole that cats in the neighbourhood had made under the fence into next doors. next doors garden is a bit lower there and they don't have a flower bed so all my soil fell through :-(

so i used a left over slate roof tiles from my mums and a quarter of a brick to block it.

I'm hoping that is going to work as im planning to plant my sweet peas there and done want it to be a main route for cats lol

Moved my germinated Coleus seedlings from the heated propagator to the heavily cleansed and emptied light box (yup, Garland has a lot of my money).

I also re-staked one of the Viburnum tinus standards as it was looking a little lopsided.

Had another tonne of topsoil delivered yesterday, should have arrived Friday morning. So, got home from work and had to shift it into back garden so I was a happy bunny (sarcasm), also wasnt happy with the quality of it, thats my fault as I used a different supplier.

Over the past couple of days I've finally managed to get round to cutting down the raspberry canes and pruning the gooseberry bushes, hydrangeas and fuschias. Gave them all a good mulch of compost as well. Need to do something with the fruit trees I've got in huge planters on the decking but I've never pruned those before so need to do a bit of research before I touch them. There's a nectarine, a cherry and a plum and I'd hate to kill them through ignorance.

Ooh, I might do the same to my Fuchsias as well then. I'm really keen to hard prune them and remove all evidence of leaves while there are still some freezing temperatures in a bid to get rid of some pests and diseases on them.

Its usually recommended to not prune them until the danger of frost is over. The old stems help to protect the crown of the plant where the new growth will come from.

In the greenhouse I have just potted on these two Angel Pelergoniums. This is my first attempt at raising them as standards. They were started as cuttings last June so its a case of so far so good.
