    Thank you jenny and sheal

Sheal i am particuarly bad at finding fault. For some reason with crocheting i generally love everything i do (there are exceptions where i strongly strongly hate things because they are rubbish) and i thought that was because im now maturer and less of a stresshead and more relaxed about things

Turns out its just the crochet and when it comes to drawing and art nothing has changed lol so im just expecting to hate everything i produce in the remaining 26 days and then if i do really like something it will be a big bonus lol

So do I but the more you do it the more that will change. You will never love everything you draw as you will always see the faults, but you could say the same thing with every craft.

I love the lily. That would look great painted on a tile.

Thats lovely jane i love the sunflowers and the bees.

Jane i did art gcse, art a level and art foundation and a ba in interior design and even after 8 years of drawing i still hated everything lol i think its just how i am because i can visualise things in my head really well and what i draw never lives up to the picture in my head lol

          ah jane that sucks!

i kinda twisted the rules in mine i was doing this really long scroll like piece and the subject was birds but because there was so much drawing to do in the time i asked the teacher if i could draw it on tracing paper all out before hand and then just rub the tracing onto the paper and then fill it in for my exam. luckily she said yes as that was only just allowed

everyone else was screwing and classed it as cheating lol

As a lady of eeerrrmmm.... several Summers, I find I get less critical of my pieces and get more pleasure from making them. I am a bit better than some and nowhere near as good as many others but I don't seem to mind as much as I used to. I'm more appreciative of the fact that I can still do - no arthritis, eyesight not too limited, calm hands and reasonable coordination. There are many of my age who no longer have these basic gifts,

I can remember it being the most fun I had in an exam during my GCSEs, as we could use our walkmans/discmans etc to help us work.

I failed because I wanted to express how one feels and did. I was going through one of my first depresssive episodes at the time and did this in my exam piece, even though it forfill the brief of the exam/coursework. To me art is a means of expression and you can't give that a grade, but it makes me laugh now that people are paid to grade art exam work and potentially destroy the confidence of so many young artists as a result.

That gunnera looks awesome btw. I don't think I would have the confidence to draw one myself. Wish I had room to grow one in my garden though.

Bit of artwork I just knocked up for an upcoming pancake party at the local nature park.

Perhaps we should have a separate thread for members to post their artwork in rather than here as it's not really craftwork?

Sounds like you were too advanced for art gcse. It became more about feelings and expression in the art foundation degree

And thank you. I want one too but my garden is sooo dry so currently trying to persuade my parents to plant one along the river bank in wales where they removed some trees.

Just noticed the above post is missing half my original post. how weird

it should have after the quote

Im quite happy to have a separate thread for artwork but drawings have been posted in this thread previously. What does everyone else think?

I think though i will be off to make a new one now anyway. cant wait to see what people draw and paint etc

having said that, I really don't like this one. I can cope with the mistakes in the pattern but I don't like the shape: P1050825.JPG
