            Alice: And how many hours a day did you do lessons?
            The Mock Turtle: Ten hours the first day, nine the next, and so on.
            Alice: What a curious plan!
            The Gryphon: That's the reason they're called lessons, because they lessen from day to day.

            Talking of quotes from Alice, :) here's one that ARMANDII should know about. :blue thumb:

            Alice: Oh, how I wish I could shut up like a telescope! I think I could, if I only knew how to begin.

            The latter part of the quote is most appropriate at the moment, Shiney, as collimating a Newtonian can be mmmmmmoooooooooooooost frustrating:dunno::gaah::wallbanging::heehee:

              Now, I've heard of "initiating an Etonian" ... but ... you've really got me on collimating a Newtonian! :scratch:

              A reptile mating ceremony? :dunno:

                It's supposed to be the "very simple" procedure, "M", of correctly aligning the path of light going down the telescope tube to the Primary mirror, reflecting that light correctly back up to a secondary mirror which reflects upwards into the focuser and the eyepiece so that you can see a sharp image.................but in Life, [and astronomy], nothing is simple.:dunno::wallbanging:

                      Hmm! Now let me reflect upon the matter! :heehee:

                      In the meantime:

                      To quote my old pal George Bernard Shaw;
                      "When I was young, I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures. So I did ten times more work."

                      He said a lot of insightful things and reminds me of them every day as he sits on my wall :love30::blue thumb:
