Week off - is it too early to prune sambucus nigra and buddleia?

    Hi Jack, when you say "relatively small" what sort of height are we taking about:scratch:?
    Depending on the height I would just tip prune it to make it bush out more and that wouldn't affect the number of flowers or size of leaf.:coffee:

    It's probably about 5 feet high with two main stems. There is one tiny weedy one.

    Then I would just prune the growing tips of the stems, Jack, to stop it growing higher for this season and prodding it into bushing out.:dunno::coffee:
