Hi Andrew. I planted three apple trees,(Braeburn), some 8 years ago.
I planted them in a light area in the garden were we get more sunshine than the rest of the garden, trees facing South/West.
I staked them with 2x 2 wooden stakes with large garden ties ,then made the trees fast to the stakes to keep the trees erect in the winds.
There are many good feeding products on the market, see your local garden centre. :blue thumb:.

      Hiya Andrew.
I'd say a sunny spot. It's generally best to grow at least two Apple trees to aid pollination. It's also best to decide on what rootstock suits your needs, several are available. Much depends on the space you have.

How many trees are you planting Andrew? Your decking takes up a fair bit of room, so that only leaves the space in front of your greenhouse and I would say you need at least 5ft between them to allow for crown spread. They will also restrict the sun from your greenhouse.

You could do and if you did I would get a patio variety rather than one you would plant in the ground. The problem is though is that they don't give as high a yeilds as one planted in the ground and I found they needed constant watering.

Another option are cordons or espaliers. These could be planted against your fencing or even made into a screen along your decking depending on your aspect.

I would sink two posts into the ground at either end of the decking. Then run tension wires in between and plant the tree in the middle. As your decking looks quite small I would go for a really dwarf root stock, or you could always have the tree offset from the middle and then bend the arms around the post next to your fence and have it run along the fence too.

          What size is your decking?

No. You will need trees that have already been shaped into Espaliers, with dwarf rootstock. They don't come cheap though. You might be able to buy them from a garden centre, but if not, your best bet would be to look for a specialist nursery in your area.
