    I might pop to garden centre on way back from asda today any plant recommendations :dbgrtmb:

      Best you look at that thread Jason and draw on the experience of those who have done it.
      I inherited a pond in my previous house so haven't set one up from scratch.

        Ok got some plants from wikihow and I had a mooch around my garden to see what I could use for a bucket pond and come across an old boat thing that we had while we looked after indian running ducklings so this is my start of a boat pond

            Ha! That would make a fun-tastic boat pond. Will you submerse it in the ground or keep it on top of the soil and blend the outside with surrounding plants?

            Yeah the ducks loved it, Im planning keeping above the ground as the novelty of the boat and will put pond plants in and grow grass longer around outside and a chopped log at the back, then I might put some small posts around it as I have some marine white rope in garage (was meant to be a tow rope but it's to thick) to elegantly dangle from post to post

                    not top of my list either. I do like dark foliage though, but it is just the shape of this one that I find disturbing (but no complaints about longk:dbgrtmb:)
