      Morning All...

Its a bit cold here and not forecast to get much better. If it stays dry I intend to get outside and do some tidying up. Heathers have all been trimmed now and now want to do some of the other pots.

      Have a great day all

      Cheers

      Nigel

        Aloha everyone,

Welcome to Wakey Wakey, Nigel. :blue thumb:

I seem to be getting a bit of my cough back  but I'm not going to let it beat me. :nonofinger: Two months of being sick is enough!!!

On the up side, my foot is almost better - after nine months :)

I went to the hygienist yesterday for my regular teeth clean and it was a lovely sunny morning. By the time I came out it was raining heavily and I hadn't taken an umbrella.

So I ran the quarter mile back to my car. I now know how unfit I am! :heehee: Sixty years ago I could run that distance and not even get out of breathe. I can't remember having run in the last ten years :old: But I'm still here! :roflol:

We have a new, small, chest freezer being delivered today. It's a back up for our 2m high upright that tends to give us problems every so often. It's a posh, self-defrosting, freezer. They lie!

In actual fact it's a semi self-defrosting freezer. If we have a power cut or leave the door open too long the temperature rises fairly rapidly. Most of the time it recovers easily from that but we found out a few years ago that if it happens a few times the freezer gets very temperamental.

After one power cut it wouldn't bring the temperature lower than -14C. So I phoned a freezer engineer. He was the one that told me that they really aren't properly self-defrosting and need to be defrosted manually. Manually, being once per year (no, that's wrong! Annually is once a year :snork:.) He said it should be done every two years and left to defrost for 24 hours. :hate-shocked:

Apparently, the ice forms in the pipes and takes that long to defrost properly. He didn't charge for his advice :dbgrtmb:

        Have a great day

        Aloha!

          Good morning everyone,

Good to see you Nigel:blue thumb: it's a bit nippy here to this morning the pools of water that stood on the lawn have now frozen solid:doh:

Shiney....That latest dose of the lurgy was a real bad one and you certainly bore the brunt of it.A chap at Mr Loli's work got fed up of the coughing and went to the doctors, the doctor said "you can expect to have it for up to 12 weeks"...it's driving him nuts:rolleyespink:...
RUN:huh: Just the thought of it makes me out of puff:phew::biggrin:

Eve...That's a divil about the GH:frown: Hope it gets to safely next time:thumbsup:

Some folk think Chickens are daft but yesterday with the weather being so bad my girls were confined to barracks (in the run)...around 4pm I heard a racket so looked out and they were lined up with their heads in the air shouting the odds,I couldn't see anything that was upsetting them when I went to look so just thought they were fed up of being penned in.It went quiet but not long after they were at it again:scratch:...Off I went again and looked up to where they were looking and sure enough there was quite a large Hawk sat in the tree staring down at them.So that's what all the commotion was about, they spotted it long before I did.As per usual by the time I'd paddled back to the house, got the camera, switched it on,zoomed in,it had gone:doh:Peace had resumed :chicken::dbgrtmb:

Re the ACV with the 'mother'..Great stuff.Does my chooks the world of good:chicken::dbgrtmb:

 The sun has come out,you can't beat it:thumbsup:

Have a great day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

Morning folks, it's reasonably bright here this morning but we have rain forecast today & tomorrow, Sunday is going to be the best day so I'm told? Fingers crossed it will be nice, I have a few plants to put in my back boader & think I'm going to have to fence it off so my hens keep off it, the plants need a rest from their scratching!
It's so nice now the days are getting longer I love this time of year.
Oh Eve what a shame about the GH, I hope you don't have to wait another 3 weeks!
Shiney I hope you soon get rid of that cough, there's certainly some horrid bugs around at the moment.
I hope the hawk stays away Loli, my hens are tapping their beaks on the cat flap as I type, it's almost treat time! They certainly know when that is!
I hope you all have a good day, take care & happy gardening!

              Morning all

Dull and damp here but at least it's stopped raining for now.

Hope all poorly people are on the mend soon.

Got to have a bit of a housework day today, very annoying.

Have a great day everyone, be good to yourselves

Good morning all. Lovely sunny morning here though there was a frost.
Hoping to get some more of my windbreak planted today. I foolishly put some Eleagnus in the hen run and they've eaten the poor things back to bear twigs :gaah:
My fault I should have known better!
Thanks for the reminder re the ACV for both me and the chooks. I have some but have been forgetting to use it derrrrrr
Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to make a start on it :spinning:

                      Good morning everyone,

Well I have been drinking cherry and cranberry juice to try and help it but on your advice have ordered so cider wine vinegar with mother and see if that will do the trick.

I hope everyone else is ok and welcome to the thread Nigelius.
Have a good day everyone, keep safe and well, God bless.:wub2:

Good morning all, hope we all had a good night. Very damp here in Paradise upon Medway, which is ideal as my new hose should arrive today and I need to clean the whole path, it's very muddy where the boys were working for me the other day and it would be a hard job if the mud was dry and caked on. Have just been looking at Nigel's sausage dog pics - if you haven't seen them please take a look, they are soooo funny! Well it's a "more coffee" kind of a morning here so that's what I'm off to do after I've spent just a little bit more time in here, lol. Hope everybody has a good and productive day, hopefully when I post this evening I will have a clean and sparkling path and not a mud chute - can't wait for the magic hose to arrive :)
