I may be wrong but I had the impression that C1 was suffering some kind of "life stress" and left it at that. He'll be back in his own good time.

          Lack of gardening discussion?

He did comment on it around this time last year and was asking why there weren't many newbies joining here but there were on other sites.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think Clue did say in one of his posts that he was taking a break for a while.

I'm a serious gardener, well more like "plant grower" really.
But when winter comes and plant growing gets non existent I tend to look for other subjects.

We have had some good controversial threads in the last few months, but it appears that a discussion of varying thoughts, about some subjects, cannot take place, without it getting out of hand.
It now seems to have descended into a slightly boring, "lets all agree, and dont rock the boat" type of set up.
I have no problem, or hold grudges with anyone.

Now going to look for a knitting forum, for some excitement.:snork:

@pete have you tried basket weaving its better than knitting:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

There are generally five types of basketry. "Coiled" basketry tends to use grasses and rushes. "Plaiting" uses materials that are wide and ribbon-like, such as palms or yucca. "Twining" uses materials from roots and tree bark. "Wicker" and "Splint" baskets use reed, cane, willow, oak and ash.;):blue thumb:

I don't post much at the moment mainly because I just can't be bothered and have to force myself to do so:sad:

I also find when I do come on here and post an answer to someone's gardening question that they never bother to come back to reply as even just a thanks would do but once they see the answer that has been posted, off they go never to be seen again and this is often after I have spent time with arthritic fingers trying to post an answer to help them with their problem:mad:

Totally agree, no grudges held here either, but twice it has been posted that I should be told to leave the forum so it makes me kind of wary of starting controversial threads I don't want to get banned because others are not broad minded enough. I agree though, very boring and very bland.
