@Scrungee what are the correct mixing ratios for 360 g/L glyphosate . For general day to day weed killing ? I presume the 90g/L you would mix at 4 times the strength .
I need to check exactly what strength mine is tonight.

@HarryS I dilute my 360g/L concentrate to 90g/L (pour 250ml into a 37p Wilko plastic measuring jug and top up to 1L ) then pour into an old Wilko Gylphosate bottle complete with measuring cap and then follow their instructions:

I actually find it easier to add half the water to the concentrate in the jug, pour that into bottle, and then measure the rest of the water and add that to the bottle to avoid having the jug brim full. The same jug is used for the final dilution, a permanent marker is useful for marking the amounts for your sprayer or weedkiller watering can.

The 360g/L concentrate can be used to make a glyphosate gel (at a fraction of the cost of the ridiculously expensive stuff in the shops) by adding some wallpaper paste powder. Adding a small amount of yellow food dye is useful if you're painting a lot of plants to mark the ones you've treated.

 I believe Monsanto are to blame for the high price of Roundup.

Is there anything as good as roundup that isn't a deadly chemical? Just curious????

I guess not or we'd all be using that instead.

Not as far as I know Barefoothaven. As you say if there was we'd all be using it. :)

Gallup 360 is a bit cheaper than Roundup. Maybe a little slower in killing weeds but I've found it pretty effective and not quite so hard on the pocket.

In addition to the concentration, it's the stuff they mix with Glyphosate to make it 'stick to the weeds' that makes the difference in effectiveness (plus affects how nasty it is). If anybody's got a few minutes to spare, Google ' efficacy of glyphosate sufactants' and 'toxicity of glyphosate surfactants'.
