I really cant see why a pressure washer wont do the job.
Main problem with bleach etc. must surely be the run off, if near the lawn or plants.

Are we talking about caustic soda, or the old fashioned washing soda?

I get a lot of fall out from the local few hundred yards away steel works, so power washing does not remove the greasiness, it is slow and water consuming when metered, I can do 6x6 slabs with 1 lot of water, whole back garden is all hard landscaped, so paths and 2 patios, would be done with 3 or 4 lots of bleach water, then hose down all to run into gravel areas.

For me it is - I am lucky enough to have a local, independent, good old fashioned hardware shop that sells pretty much everything you could want in terms of tools and hardware; better still, they are the kind of people that if they haven't got something you need, they will get it for you. :blue thumb:

No I don't think so, it is a gentle detergent. I've used it for long time around the house and garden, think it has been around for donkeys years, cheap as chips about a quid for a bottle and very versatile. Works well on the fungusy mossy build up on patios without the bleachy smell. And no damage to plants.
