Yes but he was obviously very worried about how he fitted in in our society, so he thought cutting a few heads off would make him feel better about it all.

We've got no issue with discussions of topics that might be considered spicy, as long as everyone remembers that it is a subject that could raise strong opinions and that when all is said and done, it is just a discussion, and not allow it to degrade into a slanging match.

As long as everyone is playing nicely, then please feel free to continue.

Quite! He wouldn't get away with it here therefore he didn't fit in. Where he is now, he fits right in!
Mind you, with all the cutbacks here, he'd probably get away with it for a while (just so long as he didn't post it on the internet).

You know just sometimes I think they should bring back public executions for certain criminals.
Think he would be top of my list right now.
            Hung draw and quartered.

But then, he would probably enjoy that.

So, what makes someone behave like that? Dragging in the nature v nurture debate (which is probably too simplistic) are people like that born 'bad'? It doesn't appear to be their upbringing, or even a lack of opportunities - their families are relatively well off and the education they receive gives them as much chance of a decent career as anyone else.

Yes I know but what could make young, well brought up people, however rebellious and dissatisfied with their lot in life cross that hideous line that would make them torture and kill. Because as I said earlier I have done a lot of stupid things in my life but nothing could make me harm an innocent person. I just don't have it in me

I do wonder how much of it is to do with the era that we are living in - I know myself how disgruntled I feel at times with the way our country is in terms of taxation, housing and other 'services'; working on the assumption that at least some of these individuals will be similarly cheesed off, but also have a modicum of intelligence which gives them an enquiring mind, and then add in the ease and speed of global communications nowadays, and the whole lot comes together to see disillusioned, bored people being dragged into debates etc and then slowly having their perceptions altered to suit.

I think the internet has a lot to answer for.
Without the internet this kind of thing would be much less likely to happen.

There are many more who having got there realise that it is not the "holy war" that they were led to believe that it was. This man crossed the line and must pay the price...............

If it was me I would just lift him and pop a bullet in the back of his head before disposing of the body permanently, without ceremony and without any publicity. In effect, I would make sure that once the bullet hit him he was of no consequence at all. A forgotten and unmourned person.

They're not. It's just that they're the only ones who are considered newsworthy.
I think that they said that there are about 60 British "jihadi brides" gone out to ISIS now.

A total loss of perspective as a result of brainwashing/radicalisation.
And lets remember that there are hundreds of white people from all walks of life who commit murder for various reasons in this country.

Oh, I know. I wasn't relating this to any race/creed/religion. Just struggling to understand what made any young person who seemingly had a lot going for them cross that hideous line. There's rebellion and then there's downright evil
