      Aloha everyone,

It's a wonderfully sunny morning with the frost sparkling on the ground. I managed a walk around the garden for a half hour yesterday :blue thumb: Lucky that I did as the greenhouse roof needed some pushing back together.

It's been gradually falling apart for the last ten years  with the wood rotting. One section of roof (each section is 5ft x 2.5ft) has the timber sliding down a bit with the giant glass pane slipping. I push it back up every so often. This time I noticed that the pane, on one side, has slipped out of its runner and is sagging slightly. I'm going to need some help to try and get it back in!

A few years ago I got in touch with the manufacturers to see whether the bad timber sections could be replaced. They got their local specialists to have a look at it and we were told that it wouldn't be worth repairing because of the cost - £3,000+ :yikes:. New panels won't fit because the old ones are Imperial and the new are metric. So they would have to take the whole thing apart, repair it and rebuild it!

Moyra, sorry to hear you're still having problems. Have you looked at this site?

      http://www.ukgoutsociety.org/

I'm now going out in the garden to clear up the loads of deer poop everywhere and we need to replace our deer repellent.

      Have a great day

      Aloha!
      Have a great day

        Morning all

        A beautiful sunny morning here

Blimey Moyra, you'll be on bread and water soon if you have to cut out any more foods

Have you tidied the shed yet Nigel?

I'm sure it's not good from a gardening point of view, Shiney, but I love the thought of deer wandering round the garden. Not sure what the dogs would make of it though. They shoot deer round here :frown:

Waiting in for a delivery then will be off out across the fields with the dogs. :fingers crossed: it comes soon

Hope the sun shines on everyone on this fantastic Friday. Have a great day

Good morning folks. It's Friday :hapfeet:(I hope - otherwise I have made a terrible fool of myself and not for the first time!) I had a exciting time yesterday. I was given £100 compensation from my bank for "inconvenience and embarrassment caused" when they wrongly closed my account, didn't inform me and then announced quite loudly in the branch that I was with the collections dept due to monies owing to them (I owed nothing!) Anyway, I halved it with Phil and gleefully ran up to Aldi, £50 in grubby sweaty little mitt and bought trailing plug plants, 4 sets of perennials, a garden sieve, some greenhouse shelving, some bell cloches, a windowsill propogator and some pots. I am so excited about it all. I have a spare room with a window where all the new plants and overwintering ones live and there is never enough space for them all, so I have put the shelves up at that window for the time being until they are needed in the greenhouse. Today I think I am going to the outlet centre with my friend and they have a gardening bit there as well. Think I'd better leave my card at home today :roflol:

Thanks Shiney, that was a very interesting site. Eve you are right, I have had to give up so much. Haven't had any alcohol for God knows how long, Tomatoes were first to go, then told about Cheese and butter last night and now the site information Shiney has given me tells me I should give up my breakfast porridge oats. Things such as Boveril which I love on toast! Seafood and a lot of fish. So really becoming a problem to know what is safe to eat. Now the latest news on Chicken is not good either!

Moyra, I think it may say that you can have some of those things but in moderation (haven't read it myself). The thing you must stop eating is all that caviar! :heehee:

Lol Shiney, not sure I would like caviar probably far too rich. Yes it is the quantities that need to be watched but it would seem that the things I like are all taboo to a degree.
