Double dug over the bed, just got to borrow a angle grinder to get the scaffold pole that's buried in the soil and concreted into the path. Thx who ever left that in
Manure delivered probably weekends job

 

@noisette47 ...You haven't much choice than to take it easy,it'll take some healing so in the mean time sit back,feet up and take care

 

Checked on some cucumbers that I started last weekend - should have done it yesterday as they have got a bit leggy in the cupboard with the boiler..

More weeding, beware the Small Nettle at this time of year, it lies close to the ground and packs a punch

Transplanted 4 Blackcurrant bushes that were in the wrong place.

Beetroot has germinated.

Moved Kelsaes out of the propagator.

Rescued a asparagus that Sis failed to kill when she dug the entire bed up and planted potatoes last year

 

shoveling snow.

 

Scarifying and aerating the lawn. Quite satisfying.

It's a nice 13C outside so I decided to make a start on top dressing my containers. Only stopped because my back gave up. I can't bend or lift now lol, so I will plod on tomorrow.

While I was out there I saw my first bee of the year! I managed to get a photo of her inside a Crocus Jeanne d'Arc.

 

Today...I give my front little lawn a first cut and strim. Picked up a bit of moss over winter. No surprises there. Give it a few days and out comes the lawn rake. And I replaced an ageing halogen flood lamp. That will do today.

 

Minimal jobs really...just got out my March garden calendar and see I should have done something in February. So am slightly pruning back my virginia creeper (got it last winter, so yet to see it in all its magnificence; took me 2 -3 days digging into compacted clay to make the required size of hole! That tells you more about my level of unfitness doesn't it? Oh well! )

Also, looking at my garden notes, I see that the reason why the little Red Robin plant has spotted leaves could be due to its position....it is barely sunny there so have moved it.

 

I have finally got the shed finished. So all the trellising is now up and i tidied up the honeysuckle on it ready for this year



Got all the stools out from the greenhouse for the table and positioned them in their final place



Moved some plants from the greenhouse into the cold frame to free up the stools they were on



Lost quite a few of the plug plants i got for a fiver over winter so used the soil from the pots to get the bog garden started. Pablo finally came out for the shed to over the see the work as well lol



I also tidied up a clematis that i should of done ages ago and as the flower carpet roses are finally having a break from flowering. Altho new buds are appearing again i get them a tidy and a shape up so they will grow in the directions i want hopefully.
